What is Fraxel®?
Safe for use on virtually all skin types and several areas of the body, Fraxel® can help correct several skin imperfections, such as:
- Enlarged pores
- Brown spots, melasma, and other pigmentation issues
- Wrinkles and lines
- Surgical and acne scarring
- Stretch marks
- Sun damage
- Actinic keratosis and precancerous lesions
Utilizing fractional laser technology, Fraxel® resurfaces a fraction of an area at a time, creating microscopic channels in the skin that are invisible to the naked eye. This process has several beneficial effects on the skin:
- The microchannels in the skin stimulate the body’s natural healing response, initiating the resurfacing of treated areas
- Collagen is produced within underlying dermal layers, increasing the strength and structure of the skin and continuing to improve treated areas over time.
- By creating new, stronger skin, visible signs of aging as well as visible scarring and uneven skin tone are reduced.
Is Fraxel® Safe?
Approved by both the FDA and by Health Canada, Fraxel® is proven in its safety and efficacy, resurfacing aging and damaged areas while keeping the skin surface intact. Developed over the past decade, fractional laser technology has undergone multiple clinical tests and has been used in over a million treatments worldwide with positive results.
Slight post-treatment redness or flushing is common and should subside within a few days. Our medical team at Delta Laser and Skin Care Centre is highly trained in this laser treatment and will create a customized treatment plan that is tailored to your unique needs and condition.
Results may vary, and multiple sessions may be necessary in order to achieve maximum results. Your smoother, revitalized surface can last anywhere from three to six months, and with regular treatment and a good skincare regimen, your rejuvenated appearance can be effectively maintained over time. Factors such as your health, medical history, aesthetic goals, and treatment expectations will be evaluated during your consultation in order to determine if Fraxel® is right for you.
