Skin resurfacing and rejuvenation doesn’t have to come at the price of uncomfortable chemical peels or numerous injections. Venus Viva™ uses nano fractional radio frequency to create skin that’s smoother, brighter, and evenly pigmented.
What is Venus Viva™?
Venus Viva™ uses a specialized kind of radio frequency waves to create a process known as dermal heating. When the radiofrequency waves are delivered to the skin, it penetrates the epidermis and dermis, creating heat. With this heat comes the initiation of dermal change which rebuilds collagen, stimulates fibroblasts, and remodels the skin tissue.
What Does All of That Mean?
With “tissue remodeling”, a variety of skin imperfections are diminished or eliminated completely. Venus Viva™ reduces pore size, smooths the skin’s texture, tightens facial skin, and improves the appearance of acne scars. It also effectively reduces the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.
What is Venus Viva™ Treatment Like?
Before the Venus Viva™ handheld piece is applied to the skin, a topical anesthetic cream may be applied and left to sit for a few minutes.
The area has to be completely dry before the applicator can be applied, so the skin is cleansed with alcohol to remove any residue leftover from the topical anesthetic, makeup, or sunscreen.
Once the skin is clean and dry, the Venus Viva™ system can be used. The applicator sends pulses of energy into the area, and the energy is adjusted depending on the area being treated. The pulses feel warm and some patients say it feels like a rubber band is being lightly snapped against their skin.
Once the procedure is complete, cold air may be directed on the face to soothe any lingering discomfort.
After the Procedure
Immediately after the procedure, the skin will be red and slightly swollen. The redness usually disappears within a few hours, and any swelling should be eliminated within 24 hours.
The only products that should be applied to the skin should be prescribed or specifically advised by our medical team. These products are gentle and won’t further irritate the now sensitive skin.
As the skin heals, it may start to dry out or itch. Crusty skin typically appears within 24 hours. This is a normal part of the healing process, and these areas are eliminated on their own.
How Many Treatments Are Needed for the Best Results?
Some patients see some results after one treatment, but maximum results aren’t visible until the patient has had three to four treatments done at intervals of two weeks.
Since results aren’t permanent, maintenance treatments should be done about once a year to maintain results and combat any new problems that have developed over the previous year.
The Venus Viva™ is a gentle, non-invasive skin resurfacing procedure that’s free of needles, painful recoveries, and unsightly side effects. Contact Delta Laser and Skin Care Centre today to find out more information about this innovative and effective procedure.
